Install Solar Light Guidelines, How to Install Solar LED Lamp
Do you know? Installing a solar light is not as difficult as many people think. You can install solar light yourself. To be able to install it correctly, you just need to understand the instruction manual well and what things are important to check before installation.
Here's an overview of what you should check before installing the solar light without the help of a technician.
1. Components
The components you need to install solar light are usually included in the purchase package. But that doesn't mean all the components you need are included in the package. Generally, the components available in the package include:
Solar Panel
Pole
Battery Box
Battery Storage
Light Fixture
Controller
Foundation Kit
Miscellaneous Items (Cables, Fasteners, Bolts and Nuts, etc.)
Additional tools you will need to complete the components in the package include:
Location is the most important thing to consider if you want to install solar light. It must have access to sunlight that is free from obstructions. In addition, make sure that the location is not close to other light sources so that the performance of the light panel sensor is not disturbed.
When installing the pole, make sure the pole is installed on a level and firm ground and away from heat sources. If there is a water source near the pole, make sure the battery box is installed at the top that is safe from splashing water.
3. Foundation
Making the foundation must be done carefully according to the manual instructions. Important things to remember include:
The PVC tube must be properly installed on the inside of the foundation.
Make sure the concrete hardens completely after pouring (wait about 28 days) before you install solar light.
Make sure the foundation surface is flat using a hand level.
Use a reinforcing cage and nanotubes to keep the anchor bolts in place and their integrity intact.
Ensure that the threads on the bolts are fully open and are installed no more than 0.5" above the concrete.
4. Assembly
Pole Assembly. You can rest the pole on any support but, please ensure that there is sufficient space between the pole and the ground for arm assembly. The cable must be routed properly, from the top pole hole to the battery box hole, then pull the cable through the arm and attach the arm to the pole with bolts and nuts.
Fixture Assembly. You must open the fixture first and then pull the wires from the arm into the fixture. After that, connect the wires to the LED driver then close the fixture. Next, slide the fixture onto the arm, make sure that it is on level, then secure the fixture with the fixing bolts.
Solar Panel and Brackets Assembly. Make sure the inclination angle information is provided in the instruction manual. Assemble solar panels and brackets with elevation angles according to the information.
Do not forget to test the panel voltage using a multimeter. Do this test during the day. Make sure the panel voltage output is about 20V per panel. If the output voltage is less than that, you should recheck the connector.
Battery Assembly. Make sure all cables for attaching to the battery box are pulled through the battery box holes on the pole. After that, install the battery box with the U bolt provided. To make the pole easier to lift later, it is best not to put the battery in the box just yet.
Hoisting The Pole. Make sure the hex nuts and flat washers are securely attached to the anchor bolts (each bolt usually requires two hex nuts and two flat washers). Then, lift the pile using a crane or hoist and place it on the foundation. So that the pole is firmly attached, use a hex nut and a flat washer. Make sure that the height of the four nuts is level so that the pole can stand straight. You can use a torque wrench to tighten and lock all nuts perfectly.
